In 2025, Stewart left their Week 8 game against Oklahoma with a back injury. The team stated that the injury was significant, but Stewart played through it the rest of the season. He has missed all of spring ball as he looks to get healthy. He missed just one game, a non-conference game against Coastal Carolina.
