With the 2026 NFL Draft pre-draft process right around the corner, it’s time to start popping out some final scouting reports on players with no more games left to be played (everyone except for Indiana and Miami). Let’s kick that process off with Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate.

A former four-star recruit out of IMG Academy (Marist, Illinois, before that), the Chicago native Carnell Tate committed to Ohio State despite offers from every conceivable blue blood program. Alabama, Texas A&M, Florida, Oregon, Miami, and more threw scholarship offers Tate’s way.

Not only has Tate excelled on the field, but he has also been a consistent Scholar Athlete during his time in Columbus, Ohio. Tate earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors this season.

A two-year starter at Ohio State, Tate saw a massive leap in production in 2025 after the graduation of Emeka Egbuka. Despite missing three games this season, Tate racked up 845 yards receiving and nine touchdowns on 51 catches while sharing the field with 2027’s most-coveted playmaker Jeremiah Smith.

So, let’s dive into his 2026 NFL Draft profile here:

Injury History

Tate missed three games in 2025 with a lingering calf issue that popped up at the end of October. He also missed one game in 2024 due to lower-body tightness; this was also thought to be a calf injury.
