QB Deep Dive: Darian Mensah accuracy profile, scouting report, and overall NFL Draft thoughts

From Tulane to Duke to Miami, Darian Mensah now has the chance to see his NFL Draft stock rise once again. Where does he stand entering the 2026 season?

Another week, another quarterback deep dive.

So far, I have completed these NFL Draft summer scouting deep dives on a flurry of quarterbacks from Arch Manning and Dante Moore, all the way to TCU’s new quarterback Jaden Craig, and more. All of those QB Deep Dives can be found here.

This week, however, my attention turns to Darian Mensah. A first-year starter standout from Tulane in 2024, Mensah then bounced to Duke in 2025 for his Redshirt Sophomore season. He now heads to South Beach, a team just a win away from a National Championship a year ago, poised for another strong statistical season.

However, we know that lighting up the scoreboard at the college level, even to the point of winning major awards, does not always equal a strong NFL profile. That’s what we will look at today with Mensah. There is a great chance that he will play himself into conversations for some of these major awards, entering a system where he should be able to rack up big numbers.

Does this mean he will be a first round pick? Does he have the tools to be a highly-drafted quarterback? That’s what we’re going to dive into today.

Mensah was named the ACC’s Second-Team quarterback, the AP ACC Newcomer Transfer of the Year, ACC Championship Game MVP, and the Sun Bowl MVP during his 2025 campaign with Duke.
