Scouting Report: QB1 from April 2025 to April 2026
Heisman winner, National champion, and soon-to-be No. 1 overall pick.
Taking a bit of a victory lap here, Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza has been the top quarterback on my big board since April of 2025, and he’ll end the 2026 NFL Draft prospect as QB1.
After going through a season with a lackluster quarterback class a year ago (not that this one finished any stronger), turning on Mendoza’s tape was an immediate palate cleanser. Mendoza then went on to throw for 3,500 yards, 41 touchdowns, and just six interceptions on his way to a Heisman Trophy and National Championship with the Hoosiers in 2025.
In a one-quarterback class, Mendoza is now the overwhelming favorite to land with the Las Vegas Raiders with the first overall pick in the draft.
What does this year’s QB1 bring to the table, however? Here, we wrap up a season of content on Mendoza and break down his overall 2026 NFL Draft scouting profile.
