The scouting notebook has been reopened, and we are going to discuss some of the information I've been hearing from scouts over the past two months of the 2026 NFL Draft summer scouting process.

You can find the first edition of my 2026 summer scouting notebook here. In this first scouting notebook, I talk about players whom I had already graded who opted to return to school.

We take a different direction here.

Of course, the goal of scouting is to trust your eyes above all else. But sometimes you get a little help from some friends around the league who help to point your eyes in the right direction.

So I thought I’d share some of that insight today.

Here we’ll talk about some players who deserve more hype, some players getting over-hyped by the media right now, some small school transfers making a big impact on their new teams, and some quarterback chatter.

So let’s sift through some of the noise that I’ve been hearing from scouts around the league:
