We have our first Scouting Notebook of the 2027 NFL Draft cycle!

The purpose of these articles is to articulate players that I have watched that may be flying under the radar, relay information I have heard from scouts around the league, and to address bigger talking points of the NFL Draft cycle to this point.

In today’s Scouting Notebook, we’ll talk about the wide receiver class, a couple of running backs, carryover grades from the 2026 NFL Draft process, small school transfer-ups with big-time potential, and more!

Table of contents

  • Wide receiver class looks like a stacked one

  • Oregon is loaded with NFL talent once again

  • Sifting through the quarterback noise early

  • Two early running backs with fun film

  • Some small school transfer-ups to watch

  • Other holdover grades to talk through

So, let’s dive in! There is quite a bit here to digest…
