Positional rankings pieces during summer scouting take some time to put together, as there are quite a few 2027 NFL Draft names to consider. However, another week down, another position group wrapped up. This week, we’re talking about the tight ends.

Anyone who listens to the Daft on Draft podcast or has followed my work from last season knows that I was a massive fan of one of these guys, who was draft-eligible last year. That player opted to return to school, adding a massive name to the top of this class.

How does the rest of the class look on tape, and not just on paper, however?

Here, I write up 10 different names and rank 14 total tight ends in this year’s class. Let’s get to it.

As we have been doing all summer long, James Foster and I have been breaking each position down in a full week of episodes. The tight end class was no different, spending three days on the position.

Here are the episodes from James and me, breaking down six names in this class:

  • Episode 1: What to watch for when scouting TEs

  • Episode 2: Breaking down Trey’Dez Green, Jamari Johnson, and DJ Vonnahme

  • Episode 3: Breaking down Terrance Carter Jr., Luke Reynolds, and Benjamin Brahmer
