QB Deep Dive: How Dante Moore can take his game to another level in 2026

A likely top-five pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Dante Moore chose to return to Oregon. Here's how his stock can continue to rise:

I remain adamant that Oregon quarterback Dante Moore would have been selected within the first five picks of the 2026 NFL Draft, and perhaps within the first two, had he declared.

However, Oregon offered him a massive pay raise, and the word on the street last year was that Moore was in no rush to leave for the NFL. This makes sense for a quarterback who was initially in a rush to start at the college level, was fed to the wolves at UCLA, then opted to come to Oregon under the plan to sit and learn for a year before stepping back on the field.

He stuck to his word, returning to Eugene. He’ll be just 21 years old during the draft this next Spring, and will have just turned 22 by the start of his rookie training camp, so perhaps this was the right move for him as well.

Moore now looks to prove that he is the best quarterback in college football, to get Oregon over that hump they cannot seem to climb, and to hear his name called as early as possible in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Career Statistics at UCLA and Oregon

2023 (UCLA): 114-of-213 passing, 53.5% completion percentage, 1,610 yards passing, 11 passing touchdowns, 9 interceptions

2024: 7-of-8 passing, 87.5% completion percentage, 49 yards passing, 0 touchdowns, 0 interceptions

2025: 296-of-412 passing, 71.8% completion percentage, 3,565 yards passing, 30 passing touchdowns, 10 interceptions

Awards

Moore was named to the Third-Team All-Big Ten by media, and received an honorable mention nod from the coaches. He was a finalist for the Manning Award and the Davey O’Brien Award.

Injury History

Taking a big hit against Wisconsin in October of last year, Moore was pulled from the game out of precaution. However, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning stated that Moore could have returned if he was needed in that game. He also took big hits in a six-sack performance against Indiana in October, forcing him into a limp. Moore, however, played through it and did not miss any time.
