Desmeal Leigh might be at lowly Youngstown State, but he carries a heavy, forceful punch

Every year, there is an FCS standout that deserves legitimate NFL Draft attention. Last year, we saw Southeastern Louisiana’s Kaleb Proctor and North Dakota State wide receiver Bryce Lance get selected in the fourth round, and Stephen F. Austin cornerback Charles Demmings and North Dakota State quarterback Ole Payton get drafted in the fifth round.

This year, the headliner at the FCS level is Youngstown State's massive offensive tackle Desmeal Leigh. That’s where we turn for this week’s scouting report.

A three-year starter for the Penguins (with 38 career starts), Leigh turned down opportunities to transfer up to the Power Four level to return to Youngstown State in 2026. Given his profile and the high summer grades he’s received this offseason, Leigh is an easy bet to land at the Senior Bowl after the season, where we will get the chance to see him punch up.
