Senior Bowl Day 3 observations and takeaways
Practices are in the books, so who took advantage of their final day of work?
All three days of practice at the Senior Bowl are now completed as this year’s crop of 2026 NFL Draft prospects did their best to wow in front of NFL scouts and personnel. Kentucky guard Jalen Farmer burst onto the scene this week, but he was not the only one.
If you missed the first two days of recaps, those links can be found here:
It’s been a fun week of tape to break down from Mobile. I have a shortlist of names that I need to write evaluations on after this week comes to a close, with Farmer being near the top. Expect next week’s Inside the Film Room and Live Charting to feature players from either the Senior Bowl or the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Without getting too far out over my skis, however, we have one more day of practice to talk about. So, which 2026 NFL Draft prospects stood out the most on Day 3 in Mobile, Alabama?
Kentucky guard Jalen Farmer presents an interesting 2026 NFL Draft profile
I need to familiarize myself with the tape of Kentucky guard Jalen Farmer. I haven’t watched a single minute of the Wildcats’ offensive line this season, but after his week in Mobile, Farmer may just start gathering momentum as a top-five guard in the class.
In pass protection, Farmer was as firm as they make them. When he dropped his anchor and was able to latch on opposing pass rushers, he was ending reps before they even got started. In both one-on-ones and in 11-on-11s, Farmer was a brick wall.
Farmer has also been getting reps at right tackle. And while his foot speed is not tremendous at tackle, his base is firm, and his feet are balanced and squared up to his hips. Speed can give him fits out there, but his punch is big enough to send more explosive pass rushers around the arc.
When I make my shortlist of All-Star game standouts to watch on tape, Farmer’s name is going to be near the top.
