Weighted On-Target Percentage: LaNorris Sellers brings an already strong foundation into 2025
Don't be deceived by the rushing highlights, LaNorris Sellers has built his foundation from the pocket
Let’s chat about the ball placement and accuracy of one of the 2026 NFL Draft’s most tantalizing quarterbacks heading into the summer.
We are already in the swing of things as we turn the page to the 2026 NFL Draft. The work on Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza has already been done with an Inside the Film Room article and a live charting video breakdown of his game against NC State from a year ago.
But it’s time to start putting together some summer scouting Weighted On-Target Percentage profiles to find out just how clean some of these quarterbacks' ball placement and accuracy are.
First up? South Carolina Football’s massive 6-foot-3 and 242-pound alien LaNorris Sellers.
Coming off his first season as the full-time starter for the Gamecocks, Sellers stacked weeks at the end of the season and got better as the season went along. Sellers finished his 2024 campaign with 2,534 yards passing, 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions through the air. The dual-threat quarterback added another 674 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.
It is extremely reasonable to expect another leap from the South Carolina gunslinger. Especially given his rare, special tools.
Before we start talking about what a leap could look like for Sellers in his second season as the established starter at South Carolina, we need to discuss the foundation he has already built as well.
And it’s quite a solid one.
Here we will cover what Sellers already puts on tape, what his Weighted On-Target Percentage profile looks like heading into his Redshirt Sophomore season, and what the film shows are his largest areas for growth in 2025.
