Scouting Report: Where does USC Makai Lemon stack up at the top of this WR class?
The consensus top-three wide receivers are Carnell Tate, Jordyn Tyson, and Makai Lemon. Where does the USC product stack up amongst the other two?
We’ve got three strong names at the top of the 2026 NFL Draft board at the wide receiver position: Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson, Ohio State’s Carnell Tate, and USC’s Makai Lemon.
Here, we are going to focus on the latter of the three and discuss how Lemon stacks up with the other two in this crop of pass catchers. I have already written up a scouting report on Tate as well, and that can be found here. However, let’s get back to Lemon.
Coming off of an electric 2025 season, Lemon won the Biletnikoff Trophy as college football’s best wide receiver. He racked up 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns on 79 catches for the Trojans this past season. That means he’s clearly the best receiver in the class, right?
Let’s dig into his scouting report here and see exactly where he stacks up with Tyson and Tate.

Makai Lemon has one documented injury: a concussion after he suffered whiplash due to a helmet-to-helmet hit in September of 2024. Lemon was hospitalized overnight after the hit.
The only other time that Lemon missed was the first quarter against UCLA, where head coach Lincoln Riley stated that he and teammate Ja’Kobi Lane sat early after “a violation of team policy.”
