Live Charting: Julian Sayin NFL Draft summer scouting report, ball placement and accuracy profile, and overall thoughts

Let's take a look under the hood at Ohio State Redshirt Sophomore quarterback Julian Sayin and whether or not he should be considered a legitimate 2027 NFL Draft candidate

It’s hard to top being a Heisman Trophy campaign as a first-year starter the way that Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin did in 2025. However, there are plenty of examples that prove that a strong college quarterback does not always equal a top NFL Draft prospect at the quarterback position.

A former five-star recruit with a complicated process coming out of high school, originally committed to Alabama before the retirement of Nick Saban, Sayin took over the starting job after the graduation of Will Howard. He beat out now-Louisville quarterback Lincoln Kienholz in a camp battle and did not look back.

He now enters his second season as the starting quarterback in Columbus, looking for redemption after ending the season on a low note of back-to-back losses against Ohio State’s two toughest opponents. He is going to have to prove that he is not a product of a soft schedule and does have what it takes to elevate his game against the toughest competition.

Pinned as an accurate and procedural quarterback, is Sayin more than just a good college quarterback, and does he have a legitimate argument as a top-end NFL Draft prospect in 2027?
