Weighted On-Target Percentage: Is there still hope for Nico Iamaleava?
After transferring from Tennessee to UCLA, what is Nico Iamaleava taking back home with him?
Summer scouting is coming to an end, and I have released my 2026 NFL Draft quarterback rankings already. However, there are still more ball placement and accuracy profiles to work through.
Today, we take a trip to Knoxville… or I mean Southern California to discuss new UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava. Once the No. 1 player in all of California and the No. 2 player in his recruiting class, Iamaleava failed to live up to the hype in his first season as Tennessee’s starting quarterback.
Iamaleava managed just 2,600 yards and 19 touchdowns in an offense that got both Hendon Hooker and Joe Milton drafted. To make matters worse, his experience in Knoxville came crashing down due to a dispute about how much money he should be making in 2025.
This led to the Volunteers choosing to move on from Iamaleava, forcing the former five-star recruit to enter the Spring transfer portal window. He landed with the UCLA Bruins as a result.
Did the ball placement and accuracy profile match how ugly the box score looked? I’ve charted all of his Power Five games and have a completed Weighted On-Target Percentage profile on the Redshirt Sophomore quarterback.
Here are the other Weighted On-Target Percentage profiles completed to this point in the offseason:
It’s time to dive into Iamaleava’s ball placement and accuracy profile and talk about where he stands as a 2026 NFL Draft prospect.
