Weighted On-Target Percentage: Cincinnati QB Brendan Sorbsy a prime breakout candidate

NFL scouts and agents have gotten excellent feedback from the Cincinnati Football program on the growth of Redshirt Junior quarterback Brendan Sorsby ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. So, here, I take a look for myself at his profile and where I stand on Sorsby in the wake of the 2025 season.

The Indiana transfer quarterback is coming off his first season with the Bearcats. Starting 12 games for Cincinnati in 2024, Sorsby racked up 2,800 yards passing, 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He completed 64 percent of his passes.

However, a point I’ll continue to hammer home: completion percentage falls well short of a meaningful metric when trying to determine just how accurate a quarterback is. This is why I developed Weighted On-Target Percentage to find out for myself just how accurate these quarterbacks are.

I’ve charted 15 different quarterbacks in this class and have a four-year sample size to work from. Here, we will use the Weighted On-Target Percentage, as well as film, to determine where I stand on Sorsby.

Here are the other Weighted On-Target Percentage profiles completed to this point in the offseason:

  • South Carolina’s LaNorris Sellers

  • Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza

  • Michigan State’s Aidan Chiles

  • Penn State’s Drew Allar

  • Clemson’s Cade Klubnik

  • LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier

  • Baylor’s Sawyer Robertson

  • Arizona State’s Sam Leavitt

  • Texas Tech’s Behren Morton

  • UCLA’s Nico Iamaleava

So let’s talk about what Brendan Sorsby’s 2026 NFL Draft profile already offers, where he can get better, and where his Weighted On-Target Percentage currently stands entering his Redshirt Junior season.
